At Shih Chien University Department of Music, Taiwan (USCMUSIC) we offer summer and winter training programs in the field of musical instrument repair, focusing mainly on the disciplines of woodwind. This includes clarinet, saxophone, and flute. We teach the skills and knowledge that can be used to keep your own instrument properly maintained, and as an entry level of pursuing a career as a musical instrument technician.

 

The courses are designed for :

  1. Musicians who frequently wondered how the instruments mechanically work to create music.
  2. School band teachers who are trying to save some budget on instrument repair.
  3. Musical instrument dealers or sales persons who would like to serve their customers better.
  4. Music major students who may consider being an instrument technician.

Similar programs in Japan and USA may cost you from 2,000 USD for a week to 35,000 USD for one year.  At USCMUSIC, the tuition for a ten–day course is only 733 USD (Flute) to 750 USD (Saxophone).  Plus, the university offers accommodations on campus with very low price from 12 USD per night (4 bedroom) to 20 USD (2 bedroom) per night.
